The coastal road extending 12 km in lenght between
Volosko and Lovran is a special attraction of
the Opatija Riviera. One can either go walking
or yogging by sea or stroll through the wooded
paths in the hinterland of the Riviera; or again
mountaineering up the slopes of the Učka mountain
(1,396 m). The Opatija Riviera offers 12 indoor
swimming pools with heated sea water and numerous
recreational programmes in its hotels, tennis
courts and areas for other sports, bowling alleys
or the open-air paths for the traditional sport
of playing bowls, or boccie. Among the most attractive
water sports is sailing in small boats, windsurfing
and yachting. Water skiing and deep diving are
also very popular on the Opatija Riviera.
International motor boat races take place on the
nearby island of Krk. European car races, as well
as motorcycling and bicycle racing take place
on the Grobnik car-racing track "Rijeka",
15 km distant. There is also an airstrip at Grobnik
for sightseeing flights and also parachuting,
while the nearby Platak is a winter ski centre. |

| Weekend program has
start on Friday at 9 h and the finish is on Sunday
at 21 h. Sailing boat is able to return each day
in Rijeka or in Opatija or in Omišalj and other
destination in Kvarner bay. |
