One can go all along the Opatija
Riviera: to Volosko, a small romantic ficherman's
settlement with its restaurants on the coast,
or to the other end of the Riviera to Brseč, a
medieval fortified settlement on a rock 150 metres
above sea level. Excursions on offer lasting half
a day, one day or even several days outside the
Riviera are organised for land, sea and air. The
peninsula of Istria has many small towns on the
hills, such as Grožnjan, town of artists, Motovun,
well known all over the world for its truffles,
Poreč, famous for the gold mosaics of the Basilica
Euphrasiana...
The national park in the Brioni Archipelago, which
is just off-shore from the town of Pula with its
grandiose Arena. Another national park is a three
hour drive from Opatija - Plitvice with its cascades
and lakes in unspoilt nature.
The Postojna and Škocijanska Caves in Slovenia
- natural phenomena which are not so far from
Opatija. A little further in distance is Lipica,
the stud farm on the world famous Lippizaner horses.
The island of Krk, with its islet Košljun on which
there is a Franciscan monastery and a museum,
Rab with its four bell-towers, Cres, Lošinj ...
Excursion transportation is various: by car, coach,
hydrofoil, on ship, and even walking along the
coast or through the wooded paths to Veprinac,
Mošćenica, Kastav. |

| PLITVICE LAKES

 Situated
in a thick forest, Plitvice Lakes are considered one
of the most beautiful natural phenomena in the World.
The sixteen lakes, connected by 92 waterfalls, cascade
through the picturesque surrounding. Plitvice Lakes
were declared a national park in 1949, and since 1979,
they have been on UNESCO's List of World Natural Heritage.
The park's attractions also include several caves
and the varied flora and fauna. A guided tour of the
park lasts about two hours and a half, including both
a boat and a walking tour. Join us on this trip to
enyoi the magic beauty of the lakes and waterfalls,
creating spectacular scenery.

 Do
not miss to visit the largest Adriatic island, connected
to the mainland by a bridge. The visit of the island
starts in the bay of Punat where we get on the boat
to reach the islet of Košljun. There stands the Franciscan
convent built on the basis of a roman villa, housing
a valuable library and an ethnological museum. Our
tour continues on with the visit of the town of Krk,
surrounded by mediveal ramparts and of its famous
Cathedral. The island tour ends in the pictoresque
little town of Vrbnik with the wine teasting. Situated
on a high reef overlooking the sea, Vrbnik is famous
for its excellent wine, one of the best of Croatia
- Vrbnička žlahtina.

| BRIJUNI ISLANDS

 BThe
Brijuni archipelago covers a group of 14 islets of
exceptional beauty, also famous for their archeological
findings. Brijuni were declared a national park in
1984. On this tour you will visit Veli Brijun, archipelago's
largest islands. A four-hour ride on a tourist train
will take you on safari park where various exotic
animals live wild.
Our expert guide will also show you the remains of
a Byzantine fortification from the 2nd century B.C.
as well as a Roman summer residence from 1st century
A.D. Visit the photo-exposition "Tito on Brijuni".
Next you will visit the Archeological Museum and the
15th century St. Germain's church.
