| Ika is a small town on the western coats of the Kvarner
bay. It is interesting to mention that the name of this
town is frequently used in crossword puzzles. This old
fishing village is today a pulsating tourist center,
connected with a long promenade along the coat to neighboring
towns Lovran and Volovsko. Ika is a place with rich
maritime tradition, and in the 19th century it was an
important harbor and shipbuilding center. With the development
of tourism in Opatija Riviera, thanks to its lush vegetation
and pleasant climate, Ika quickly became one of the
more popular tourist centers in these parts.. |
